The Whistletyne Kennel is nestled in the beautiful countryside beside Hadrian’s Wall, near the Northumbrian and Cumbrian border. We live in a farmhouse, so our labradors are fortunate enough to enjoy lots of private space in which to run and play. Most importantly, all of our dogs are first and foremost family pets, they are fit and healthy and very much part of our family life. My interests are showing and breeding and what started 20 years ago with my very first pet labrador, has now become an all consuming passion to live with and learn from this most charming, intelligent and faithful breed.
I am an active committee member for The Northumberland and Durham Labrador Retriever Club, one of the very oldest clubs in existence, and I am currently serving as the clubs Honourable Secretary. This role certainly keeps me busy throughout the year with various labrador and club related activities.
Some years ago I became a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder, more recently known as an Assured Breeder and I make full use of the health screening tests available including, annual eye testing, hip and elbow scoring and some of the DNA developments including PRA testing. But most importantly, our dogs have exceptional temperaments and are lovingly bred from the best quality stock. When breeding a litter, my main aim is to produce healthy, happy puppies that are well socialised and a joy to own.
Visitors always welcome by arrangement
