Whistletyne Labradors and Paws to Splash hosted a fundraising ‘Splashathon’ in aid of North West Labrador Retriever Rescue on Sunday 15th May 2011.
Guests were invited to bring along their dogs for a 15 minute taster swim in the wonderful hydrotherapy pool at Paws to Splash, Armathwaite. Followed by a shampoo, shower and blow dry. While swimming, we clicked away with the camera so every swimmer received a memento photograph.
We were delighted with the turnout as the weather wasn’t the kindest it could have been! There were 38 ‘swimmers’ throughout the day, accompanied by one or more members of their family, so we were kept busy serving tea and coffee and chatting happily to lots of doggy folk.
All the helpers gave their time freely and everyone gave generously; we even had some truly gorgeous cakes and scones, brought along by one very talented guest. The raffle was generously stocked with lots of prizes. All very kindly donated and no one went home empty handed.
The result was the wonderful total of £738.55 raised for this very worthwhile cause.
